I would like the game to be an environment like a city. Each street would be a new level of progression. I could like the progression to be linked to the Canadian Language Benchmarks. The first level could be CLB 1, the second CLB 2, and on to the highest level.
On each building I would want to put a sign that indicates what type of building it is, so that a learner can know what they can expect to see inside the building. For some buildings, besides a sign I could include a picture that gives learners an idea about the building, and a description that shows after clicking the sign that explains the language focus of the building.

This is the inside of a bookstore in the game. In the bookstore as in each building there will be tasks that the learner can participate in. They will be able to click some objects in the room to have the vocabulary come up in a pop-up bubble. After reviewing the words associated with objects in the store, learners can then go through a variety of activities. The will be provided with fill in the blank exercises, grammar exercises, reading and listening comprehension, and conversation practice with the A.I. non-player character.
For the purpose of our project I am using Adobe Photoshop to demonstrate where a word could pop up when it comes to vocabulary and expressions as I still need to learn how to do it in the game designing program. You will see some of these examples in the following photos.

As you can see in this game screenshot the learner is being introduce to vocabulary, in this case the word “counter”.

In this screenshot above, learners are introduced to the vocabulary for “Pizza”.
